Lama Geva Jampa Gyatso has offered to open his recitations and pujas (blessings, clearing and offerings) to our community which will be shared live online by donation. On Saturday he will start the dharma protectors puja.

About the event
Losar is the term for the Tibetan New year celebrated in total for 15 days, with the main celebrations on the first three days. Losar is the beginning of a new lunar year that are celebrated by the ancient Tibetan bon traditions (before Buddhism). Instead of drinking champagne to celebrate, we learn to perform a rituals of gratitude. We are invited to make offerings to the nagas, the water spirits who activated the water element in the area. We can make smoke offerings (insence or fire) to the local spirits associated with the natural world around us. Beliefs and behaviors such as these evolved long ago and are often seen as primitive in the West.
